Andre M. Johnson is the founder of ProImage Communications, LLC., and has more than 20 years of professional communications experience to his credit. He brings an extensive background in campaigning, advertising, and direct response marketing. He is a nationally recognized general and strategic consultant, with an ability to offer clients a strategically sound orientation, detailed planning, and control over campaigns.
In 2004, Johnson orchestrated the earned media campaign that took the Rev. Al Sharpton from the pulpit to the leadership of the Democratic Party. In 2003, Johnson devised the media and event operations plan for the first Democratic Presidential debate hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus.
In 1996, Johnson started ProImage through the representation of then, Olympic Gold Medallist, Dominique Dawes, the first African American gymnast to win a gold medal. Johnson was able to create a national and international communication plan that carried the gymnast from the day after Olympics through a solid calendar year. During this period, Johnson was able to garner tremendous success by negotiating the opportunity for the gymnast to do several national and international interviews, sitcom television appearances, an appearance in a Prince music video and countless paid autograph signings. After the achievements associated with the Dawes campaign, Johnson leaped head first into representing professional athletes: NFL, NBA players and world champion boxers with the same level of success.
Prior to founding ProImage Communications, LLC., one of the areas most respected grassroots communications firms, Mr. Johnson had worked with the Washington Bullets and Washington Redskins as a public relations coordinator. Prior to that Mr. Johnson worked as a writer for the Washington Post Newspaper.
Mr. Johnson’s history of public service and professional involvement in political affairs is as impressive as it is diverse. He has staffed Members of the House and Senate, and served as communications consultant several District of Columbia Councilmembers, local government campaigns and initiatives in Washington, DC.
As a private political consultant, he has provided services for numerous campaigns and has consulted on political campaigns both nationally and internationally.
A native Washingtonian, Mr. Johnson graduated from the American University in 1990 receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and has been a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity Inc., since 1986.
